Improve dropout rates with attendance and engagement software

Tuesday, 27th September, 2016

Here at AIT we’ve been hearing the phrase ‘student attendance’ quite a bit over the past year.

Whether it’s to ensure overseas students comply with UKVI Tier 4 or to monitor student satisfaction and engagement, it’s certainly something we’ve heard a lot of.

With dropout rates rising for the first time in four years it’s becoming more important universities do more to track and record student attendance rates.  Not only from the student’s educational perspective, but also for the loss of revenue impact on the university, student retention is key.

As a result of this, we’ve developed XPR Attendance, a low cost solution to help manage and track student attendance.

Users simply tap their student ID card to either fixed wall readers, or portable readers to record their presence; this data is then recorded into an SQL database and can be queried and reported on as required.

This removes the admin of heavy paper based registers, and provides accurate, real-time data, allowing lecturers and tutors to focus on what they’re good at!

Having this data, will allow you to report on student attendance rates, and gives you the opportunity to put steps in place before dropouts occur.

XPR Attendance comes with its own SQL database; however with our technical integration capabilities here at AIT, we have the skills to write the data into any SQL database you may be currently using

Portable readers can also be used for ad-hoc events where attendance needs to be managed, possibly offsite; the data is cached, and can then be uploaded.

XPR Attendance is a simple to use, low cost solution that will do away with old paper-based methods, and provide you with all the information you need to track student attendance that can help drive student retention. If you’d like to find out more information, please call 0113 273 0300 or email
